Hi Everyone!
As you know, my website Fantasy Art and Portraits presently showcases the fantasy art of computer games, so there's a lot of art out there that doesn't fit there at the moment. I can, however, introduce it to you on this blog.
I'm sure everyone has their favourite celebrity. Maybe some people even fantasize meeting their favourite celebrity. Where does putting a celebrity in your scantily clad fantasy fall in the continuum of normal -> harmless -> creepy?
TAKE ONE original painting by Lorenzo Sperlonga ("The Huntress")
ADD ONE hapless celebrity
TO GET ???
Your three favourite actresses in ... a writhing fantasy?

Public figures (including actors, politicians and other recognizable faces) pretty much have to put up with that sort of thing as long as it is not libelous. How different would it be to put pix of Bush, Cheney and Obama in a similar pose? Funnier, probably, since our culture thinks women are funny.
but for me personally, it's creepy. I have done art the other way, putting a friend's face on the body of an actor in a movie still.
Is that different?
Hi Charlotte,
Maybe it qualifies for creepiness only if the person didn't know it had been done. I think if someone did it to a friend *and kept it to themselves* (as opposed to photoshopping it for them to share a few laughs--which happens all too often), then it's up to them to be honest about what they were hoping to get out of it.
It feels creepy. Just this weekend I found out that several of my pics had been lifted and doctored and spewed out on the web. I am not a celebrity and it was done by a stranger and it felt very creepy and not the least be funny.
There is enough out there in the world to be artistic about without this.
I wonder though, do these celebrities know? And if it helped their bottom line, would they really care. After all without that celebrity status they are no different than the rest of us.
good work!
Thanks Michael!
