"A picture is worth a thousand words", right?

Hi Everyone!
As you know, my website Fantasy Art and Portraits presently showcases the fantasy art of computer games, so there's a lot of art out there that doesn't fit there at the moment. I can, however, introduce it to you on this blog.

My friend recently e-mailed me a wonderful picture, and thereby introduced me to an incredible site, especially for Photoshop pros: Worth1000. One of the features of this site is that the composing artists will invariably list their source images and inspirations, often in a composite picture showing everything used.

Here are just a few fantasy pictures from their many contests.

Today's fantasy art showcases some of the remarkable screenshots from the virtual world, Second Life; in particular, the work of artist Kim Dench.

Second Life picture quality varies a lot, as you will see if you go on Flickr and do a search for "Second Life" or "sl". The best ones, however, try to pay attention to common anomalies of 3D art, such as having body parts inside objects when they shouldn't be.

And after a screenshot is taken, some editing can be applied to really show off a picture. Click on these pictures to see the artist's commentary.

Worth Visiting - Dark Wolf's Fantasy Reviews

Hi Everyone!

As you know, my website Fantasy Art and Portraits presently showcases the fantasy art of computer games. So, there's a lot of art out there that I'm "not able" to show on my site. I can, however, introduce it to you on this blog:

Today, I'd like to recommend a comprehensive "all things fantasy" blog (on the off chance you're not already following it!), Dark Wolf's Fantasy Reviews. Just a glance through the nav bar on the left will give you an idea of the dizzying amount of content here. Given the number of publishers who send him stuff, I think you can rest assured this is a worthy site with a respectable author.

In terms of fantasy art, Dark Wolf's Fantasy Reviews aims to introduce one fantasy artist each week, with not just a few excellent pictures of the artist's work, but an interview with the artist as well. If you're the type to want to look at the mind behind the paintings, this is an excellent blog to visit weekly.
