Enchanting Art and Photography at the Spring Fairy Festival

Not an April Fool's Joke: Catherine Somerlot's Fairy and Fantasy Artwork has been included in this coming weekend's Spring Fairy Festival in Tacoma, WA, where she'll be rubbing shoulders with such art world notables as Jody Bergsma, Rob Carlos, and always-shows-up-in-Google-Adsense Amy Brown.

If you're in the area, do stop by and say "Hi" (well, you might want to chat with a little more than just "Hi"...) before running off to catch the lusciously curvy Jeweled Scarab Dance Company. You'll of course need to know what she looks like.

You may have read about Catherine Somerlot on my blog in recent months, when she was first featured here in November, and more recently on Christmas with her stunning, winter-appropriate "Solstice Queen".

If you love her work, and will be near Seattle or Washington soon, you may want to take note of her upcoming Solo Exhibit where you can see the full-sized framed works at the Lynnwood Library Gallery. If you're lucky, you might just catch the artist for a chat or even an autograph!

Hi Everyone!

As you know, my website Fantasy Art and Portraits presently showcases the fantasy art of computer games. So, there's a lot of art out there that I "not able" to provide links to on my site. I can, however, introduce it to you on this blog!




I recently came across Catherine Somerlot on Twitter and found her lovely work that turns photographs into fantasy art. I feel the best results occur when the components are virtually indistinguishable in the final composite, such as in "Halloween 2008" on the left.

You can view more of her compositions from her collection, "Maidens of the Otherworld". And don't overlook her photography, which you may find trumphs her fantasy art -- such as this "Mystic Woodland"
