Hi Everyone!
As you know, my website presently showcases the fantasy art of computer games, so there's a lot of art out there that doesn't fit there at the moment. I can, however, introduce it to you on this blog.
Today, I'd like to introduce the art of Lorenzo Di Mauro. His fantasy art includes a nice series of queens-on-thrones, a remarkably chaste set considering the rest of his work. Consider, for example, the cactus and the position of the skull (a bone/head, get it?) in Rain Dance (middle picture below). His Pin-Ups, Portraits, and Caricatures are also definitely worth a look.
Let me know if you can get the Pin Up Slot Machine to work! It kept asking me for Shockwave 10.1 but wouldn't do anything after I installed Shockwave. :-(

How to Draw - Free Tutorials from The Gnomon Workshop
Hi Everyone!
I came across this site that may be of interest art lovers who are curious about what goes into actually making a work of digital art. It's The Gnomon Workshop: "Professional Training DVDs for Artists". (What the heck's a gnomon?) Scan through some of their FREE tutorials, and you may be surprised as to what it takes to craft believable eyes or a flickering candle, and how much physics goes on all around us that we take for granted, until we have to recreate it somewhere else.
Next time you pick up a game like Neverwinter Nights 2, think about the awesome deal you're getting considering all the work that has come before.

The Fantasy Art of Olivier Ledroit
Hi Everyone!
As you know, my website presently showcases the fantasy art of computer games, so there's a lot of art out there that doesn't fit there at the moment. I can, however, introduce it to you on this blog.
Today, I'd like to introduce the art of Olivier Ledroit, best known in France for his work on Black Moon Chronicles (originally a comic series, later a fantasy computer game, most recently an online fantasy computer game).
If you've enjoyed games in the Might and Magic franchise such as Heroes of Might and Magic V, or Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Olivier Ledroit is also credited there the "World Artist" (interview here).
Here are some pages from his now-out-of-print L'univers feerique d'Olivier Ledroit. It's easier to find his works for sale on French sites, such as CineBD (also a good place to scan through some of his artwork).

The Fantastic Photography of Rosie Hardy
Hi Everyone!
Happy Valentine's Day! (If you're looking for last-minute things to do for today, check out my post on February 12th.)
As you know, my website presently showcases the fantasy art of computer games, so there's a lot of art out there that doesn't fit there at the moment. I can, however, introduce it to you on this blog.
Today, I'd like to introduce the evocative photography of Rosie Hardy. She's got a lot of pictures, and an interesting place to approach her work if you're a fantasy / fairy-tale fan is her Behind the Scenes - Fairytales collection. After that, you could try Seven Deadly Sins and see if the images resonate with the topic for you.
She has a lot of active followers and the pictures are often "contaminated" by inane comments, but sometimes they are insightful critiques worth pondering:

Happy Singles Awareness Day Everybody!
Happy Singles Awareness Day
Everybody!
It's tomorrow, but I thought I'd post this today, to give you a bit of time to prepare. (^_^)
If you're still vetting prospects and haven't admitted anyone into your life, or if your standards can't be met except with Harlequin Novel beefcakes and babes... Try a FREE Harlequin Novel this Valentine's! Perhaps Michele Hauf's Kiss Me Deadly?
Death cocktail is what the vampires call a witch’s blood. It’s poisonous—a drop will destroy a vampire within minutes. Nikolaus Drake is the rare vampire who has survived his first taste. Now he’s on the hunt for the witch who almost brought him to his demise—Ravin Crosse.
A witch who spends her nights hunting vampire tribes, Ravin has three obligations to fulfill to set her soul free. One of those obligations—crafting a love spell—twists her world upside down when Nikolaus draws the spell from her veins. Natural enemies rarely make the best bedfellows—but is it possible their intentions are really, truly the same? Can Nikolaus’s tribal loyalty survive if he surrenders to desires far darker than his own?
If you do have a special honey, you may be interested in setting up the love nest, or looking for something spicy to bring the fantasy back in your love-life.
However you spend it, I hope you have a great Valentine's. Cheers!
