The Fantasy Art of Kerem Beyit

Kerem Beyit is one of the digital artists featured in Ballistic Publishing's latest portfolio of "the world's most beautiful CG characters", Exotique 5.
He is very well known for his dragons, so it's nice to see some of his other artwork featured in "people"-art focussed Exotique 5 (pages 46, 99, 117, 192).

A Classic Scene in Fantasy Art?

Different artists, different styles, different moods, but very similar layout and elements. A classic scene?

The one on top was done many years ago by Larry Elmore for Dungeons & Dragons. The one below is by Kerem Beyit (who really ought to have worldwide fame for his stunningly detailed dragons).

Dragons! The Fantasy Art of Kerem Beyit

Hi Everyone!

As you know, my website presently showcases the fantasy art of computer games, so there's a lot of art out there that doesn't fit there at the moment. I can, however, introduce it to you on this blog.

Today, I'd like to introduce the art of Kerem Beyit. Even if you don't like the style of his art, his utterly gorgeous website is an experience in itself. The swirly "I'm still loading, don't go away" graphics are a nice user-feedback device for a slow-loading graphics-intensive site, and every page flames to life with the headshot of a beautifully detailed dragon (remarkably similar in style to the 3rd Edition Dungeons and Dragons dragons).
Especially if you lose your browser scroll bar, you may want to click on the "switch to full screen" icon (the two-headed arrow in the upper right corner) for the best experience of his website.

For an insight into the mind of the artist, you may want to check out the interview at Dark Wolf's Fantasy Reviews on September 4, 2008.
